Pledge Your Eyes
Give the gift of sight. Your decision to donate your eyes can bring light into the lives of two blind individuals.
Why Donate Eyes?
Corneal blindness affects millions of people globally, and the only cure is a corneal transplant. Unfortunately, there is a massive shortage of donated corneas compared to the number of patients waiting for the surgery.
Time Sensitive
Eyes must be removed within 4-6 hours after death to be viable for transplantation.
Anyone Can Donate
People of any age, gender, or blood group can donate. Even those who wear glasses or have diabetes can donate.
Simple Procedure
The procedure takes only 10-15 minutes and does not cause any disfigurement to the deceased's face.
Free of Cost
Eye donation is entirely free. Buying and selling human organs is strictly prohibited by law.
What to do when death occurs?
- Close the eyelids of the deceased immediately.
- Switch off the fan, but keep the air conditioner on if available.
- Raise the head of the deceased slightly by placing a pillow underneath.
- Contact the nearest eye bank immediately (within 6 hours).
- Keep the death certificate ready, if possible.
