Awards Eligibility
Review the criteria and guidelines required to nominate candidates for the prestigious OSN Annual Awards.
The Ophthalmic Society Nagpur encourages its members to excel in academic research, clinical practice, and community service. Below are the eligibility criteria for our major awards.
General Eligibility
- The nominee must be a ratified Life Member of the Ophthalmic Society Nagpur for a continuous period of at least 3 years prior to the nomination.
- The nominee must have an unblemished professional record with no pending disciplinary actions by the MMC or AIOS.
- The proposer and seconder must also be ratified Life Members of the society.
- Self-nomination is permitted for certain categories (e.g., Free Paper sessions), but strictly prohibited for the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Category-Specific Criteria
Lifetime Achievement Award
Awarded to a senior ophthalmologist for their outstanding contribution to the society and the field.
- Minimum age of 60 years.
- Over 25 years of active clinical practice in the Vidarbha region.
- Must have held an executive position in OSN or organized major state/national conferences.
Academic Excellence Award
Recognizes young and dynamic members who have shown extraordinary academic prowess.
- Nominee age must be below 45 years at the time of nomination.
- Minimum of 5 peer-reviewed publications as first or corresponding author.
- Demonstrated history of paper/poster presentations at AIOC or MOSCON.
Submission Process
All nominations must be submitted in the prescribed format. The application packet should include:
- Completed nomination form signed by the proposer and seconder.
- Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) of the nominee highlighting relevant achievements.
- A 500-word statement of purpose or justification for the award.
- Copies of significant publications or certificates of achievement.
